I think the HHS site is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too confusing. I would change 5 things about this site, they are:
1.) i would condense the links and make them more broad and have them more more general for grater sub topics to make the links eisier to read.
2.) open DIRECTLY to the calender. Preferibaly not a seperate window.
3.) make the login section more noticeable instead of being confined at the congested top area.
4.) have the student and faculty links seperate so you kno exactl where you go. Overall, make it LESS confusing.
5.) Instead of having plain text reading “daily announcements” have a fuctional working link to click on bringing you to the announcements of today and tomorrow and yesterday so students and teachers know what is coming up and what students missed if they were absent.

The tools and strategies i have been learning and practicing for the past few weeks Have been helpful in gathering information for a topic. If i had a class information project that required information from different sources i would most likely use the google reader and my yahoo! to help me find different information sites and facts to help aid in making the project as easy as possible. Also, the tools i have used can help because content readers are helpful. I dont think all of these accounts are nessasary though, its alot of workto make all of the sites and i forget all of my passwords so that makes it even harder to send a request to my email. I liike how you can find differnet sources of information at different places and they will be in diferent ways such as an information blog, or an information feed, or an advice colum etc. in conclusion i think the readers and the accounts along with the tools and strategies.
A few things i learned about how the Chineese Government was controling over 30,000 sites they looked at and could only send mail to their country and none of their enimies. Also, china has made a “great fire wall” blocking sites they dont approve of. Search engines such as google and Yahoo understood and let them block sites so they could make a profit either way. This is control or suppression of material an individual can publish or access on the web.
I, Renee am on the Harrison High School Varsity Swim Team and I enjoy swimming to a certain extent. I think that all excersize is good in moderation just as everything else =). When i swim in moderation i enjoy it so i searched the google search engine for a blog site that has to do with swimming and other peoples ideas about it. I came across a blog site “timedfinals.com” where it shows advice on improving your times, peoples views on swimming, news on in the world of swimming, and articles about swimming news. I came across an article about how Mike Brown, the olympic swimmer has had his hard earned, high pressured, and completely priceless metals stolen right out of his own house. I know how hard swimming is and the sacrafices you must make and mike brown was very dedicated, he earned thoes priceless metals and they were stolen, i would be outraged. completly infuriated!
Also, this blog site has many different varieties of information on swimming and like every other blog, has a place where you may comment your ideas. I looked at other peoples comments and reactions to the differnet ideas on the complex sport way of life.
I think multi-tasking has its benifits but also it can take away from the quality of your work. I think multi-tasking has been a apart of most if not every person that has been around the new forms of technology. I multi-task because it is alot faster to do more things at once because then you can accomplish more in a very little amout of time, this is why multi-tasking is good =). Instead of focusing on one thing like an essay needed to be typed we are also online instant messaging, this is where multi-tasking is bad. =(

I dont know that much about computers. I can write on Microsoft word, make a power point, and go on the internet. I hope to learn more this semester and i would like to become more computer savy. Although im on the internet often, i dont know know too much. This year i would like to learn more about computers and how they work for the future.
